Indiana Jones and his companion, Sophia Hapgood, crisscross the globe in search of mysterious Atlantean artifacts first uncovered in a dig ten years ago. It seems the Nazis are also after these same artifacts, convinced they will unlock the secret to the legendary continent. From Reykjavik to Copenhagen to Rotterdam, Paris, Geneva, Lisbon, and the Azores, then finally onto the Yucatan, Indy and Sophie manage to stay one step ahead of their pursuers. Despite several narrow scrapes, they all arrive in Russia for a mad scramble to possess the lost dialogue of Plato, which is rumored to contain the secret to Atlantis.

With Plato’s lost Dialogue safely in their grasp, Indy and Sophia are off to Morocco where they are pursued by a bunch of screaming Nazis and an oily new character named Omar Al-Jabbar, whose favorite mode of transport is a hydrogen balloon. Indy and Sophia manage to «liberate» the hydrogen balloon from the fat and sleazy Al-Jabbar in order to escape –problem is, neither of them knows how to pilot the damn thing! Eventually, of course, they get to Crete, go exploring the ruins of a labyrinth and wind up in the map room of the legendary Atlantis! How much do you want to bet those pesky Nazis aren’t too far behind?

Just as Indy and Sophie get to fabled Atlantis, they find themselves in the clutches of those dastardly Nazis! With Indy in yet another tight fix, he turns to Sophie for some advice but unfortunately she has gone completely `round the bend, as a strange Atlantean spirit has taken control of her soul. Meanwhile, the Nazis are getting closer to reaching their goal and achieving god-like powers! It doesn’t get any better than this, kids!

Buffy creator Joss Whedon brings Buffy back to Dark Horse in this direct follow-up to season seven of the smash-hit TV series.

Season 8 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer picks up after the end of the television series.

The world has been changed by the Scooby Gang's actions the previous year. While launching an attack on an old church (mysteriously protected by a force-field), Buffy reveals that there are now over eighteen hundred Slayers around the world, five hundred of which work for Buffy in military-like squads. There are even two decoy "Buffys" - one literally underground and one in Rome (a reference to the "Buffy" seen in Season 5 of the Angel TV show).

Before Buffy's squad enters the church, we are introduced to Buffy's "watcher" - Xander Harris. Xander (jokingly refering to himself as "Sergeant Fury" due to the eye-patch he wears over his missing left eye) has been positioned as a leader of the Slayers - he is seen to be monitoring the squads' actions from their headquarters in Scotland.

An incident occurs with one of the less experienced squads in Barcelona when they discover that the nest of vampires they were to attack is larger than they anticipated. Xander gives the order for Andrew's squad to assist them, indicating in the process that Andrew has become some sort of leader within their organisation.

Buffy leads her team into the church, only to be confronted by three large demons - and some dead bodies. Her team quickly defeat the demons, but are shocked to discover that the bodies they found had apparently come looking for the demons and set up the force-field. The bodies were also marked with an unknown symbol, apparently self-inflicted.

Unbeknownst to the Slayers, their actions were being watched by a mysterious person floating high above the run-down church.

Meanwhile, it would appear the United States military have become interested in the Slayers' actions also. A General Voll labels the Slayers "an army" as he flies in to investigate the crater that was once Sunnydale, California. An investigation has been set up to look at the crater. A man has been sent underground into the ruins to explore, and declares the place empty just before he is grabbed by a pair of hands.

Back in Scotland, Buffy and Xander have no idea what the symbol that was found on the bodies means, if anything. One thing Xander knows, however, is that Buffy needs to be more sisterly towards Dawn.

Buffy goes to speak to Dawn about her problems, one of which is that she has grown to a gigantic size. Dawn however, refuses to speak to anyone but the currently missing Willow, telling Buffy only that "Kenny never said he was a Thricewise". Buffy knows that Dawn had sex with Kenny, but does not discuss it with her.

In a military hospital, General Voll comes to inquire about "Subject One" and her "boyfriend". Subject One is the person that was found under the Sunnydale crater, and they have agreed to help the military take down Buffy. In a surprising twist, it is revealed that Subject One is Amy, a powerful witch who was both friend and enemy to the Scooby Gang in the past.

The destruction of Buffy's hometown, plus covert and powerful slayer "cells" around the world, add up to a new label for the Scoobies: Terrorist threat. Speaking of Sunnydale, the crater formerly known as, has opened to reveal the witch Amy, and boy is she pissed. Now: Giles, smoochies, a knife to the heart, and a big sleep. Season Eight continues.

The tables have turned in the slayer-watcher dynamic. From the beginning it was always one slayer and hundreds of watchers to train her, guide her and finally help the next in line. Now, there is only one watcher: Giles. He trains the hundreds of slayers to work together despite their natural instinct to work alone.
Meanwhile, Buffy trains her own small group to take her down but no one can even knock her over. Andrew has his own band of slayers, seated in a circle, they hang on his every word as he uses Star Wars analogies to try to convey why they aren't allowed to use guns: "No slayer carries a gun, ever, end of talk."
Dawn is still a giant. Xander tries to comfort her as she worries that Buffy hates her. Something is becoming clear, though. Dawn feels abandoned by her powerful sister. She allowed herself to be super-sized in order to get attention from the busy Chief Slayer.
As she fights to train her slayers, keep Dawn from feeling abandoned and her own feelings of guilt over it all, Buffy is about to meet with a sinister and very dangerous military organisation. The strange symbol from the first issue turns up again, this time on the chest of the General who seems hell bent on destroying the slayers.
While walking Buffy to her room, Xander expresses his concerns over Dawn's destructive tendencies. They reach her door and (shock of shock) Buffy invites him in, promising to be gentle. As she kisses him, his head pops right across the room! The world gets stranger as she's sucked out of her window into the waiting jaws of a dragon.
It's all a dream though. Amy has bewitched the chief slayer and she stands over her prone body, knife in hand, ready to deal out her revenge. It's Xander to the rescue with his band of slayers. After all, why would they allow Buffy to sleep without protecting her with magic? Amy's knife splits down the middle and Buffy is fine... and yet she slumbers on.
Amy has had the last laugh. She has cast a spell on Buffy, trapping her in a nightmare world, only to be awoken by true love's kiss. As Xander puzzles over what this could mean and the nuances of "true love", the castle is attacked by an army of mindless zombies. The slayers leap into action but nothing will stop these rotting corpses.
As Amy leans out of the window to gloat, her laughter dies on her lips as a familiar voice lets her know, there's no laugh like the laugh of a witch. Enter Willow, stage right!

With Buffy incapacitated, Amy the witch has taken the opportunity to-get this-lay siege with an army of the undead. Willow takes her on in a witches' battle royal as hundreds of Slayers defend their Scottish citadel, but without the kiss of true love, Buffy will be out of commission indefinitely-with an unwelcome familiar face, and an image you won't soon forget.

Buffy is locked in her own dreams. As she slumbers, she hears someone say, "My love." In mild disgust, she realises it's Ethan Rayne, ex-associate of her mentor Giles. Ethan has come to tell her that she's not just stuck in her dreams, she's been locked in her dreamspace, the place where she is constantly dreaming, even when she's awake. He tells her that he managed to get in by hitching a ride when Amy put a spell on Buffy. He says that all dreaming spells require a small piece of the person casting it to be used. With his help, Buffy breaks through to Amy's own dreamspace where she sees Willow battling the evil witch.

On the outside, Willow is fighting Amy and letting her appear to win. When Amy questions how she got so weak, Willow simply tells her that she's decoding her mojo. Then she blasts Amy to the ground. Just as Amy springs back and throws a bolt at Willow, Dawn appears and smooshes Amy to the ground with her giant foot.

Meanwhile, back in Amy's dreamspace, Buffy discovers the ratcage then a massive cage made of three Xs. Ethan gives her a mysterious message that she must remember everything she sees because twilight is falling and she'll need all te help she can get.

Once Amy is restrained, Willow, Xander and the rest of the slayers congregate in Buffy's room. Willow tells them that only true love's kiss can wake her. She tells them all to close their eyes and whoever loves Buffy is to step forward and kiss her. As it's done, Buffy jolts awake to the cry "Cinnamon buns!"

The search begins for the symbolism that Buffy describes, plus the strange symbol from issue 1. Giles speaks to the demons that were lured to be killed by Buffy and her slayers. Giles tries to convince them that the slayers didn't trick them, that it was something deeper and to give him all the information they can.

As Willow tries to read Amy's mind and sees some kind of military installment, she's sucked into a portal and captured. Buffy tries to follow her but she just misses it. As Willow wakes up, she finds herself restrained to a table with a man she thought was dead standing over her.... With relish, Warren tells her that she really got under his skin!

Buffy's back in action, thanks to a kiss of true love, but Willow's another story entirely-their capture of Amy the witch opened up a magical trap door, and now the Wiccan is in the belly of the beast. To make matters worse, she's at the mercy of someone truly bent on revenge, and he's been waiting for this for a long time. The conclusion to Season Eight's first arc.

A young Cimmerian huntress--a character seen in Conan Vol. 0: Born on the Battlefield--and Horsa--an Aesir leader from The Frost Giant's Daughter--both cross paths with Conan as he continues his dangerous trek through the snowy mountain passes of Cimmeria. Fighting his way through the natural dangers of his barbaric homeland has been a welcome change from the mind games and treachery Conan found in the cities of the East, but there's an unfortunate lesson in treachery in store for Conan here, too.
